Quick on the trigger | quick on the draw

(Nhanh tay lẹ chân)

Meaning: If you are quick on the trigger, or quick on the draw, you act quickly when solving problems or answering questions.
The first expression came from the American West's gunslingers and was broadened to mean "a quick reaction" in the first half of the 1900s. The variant originated about 1800.

For example:
  1. Our smartest students are very quick on the trigger when they're doing class quizzes.
  2. Some people think the coach is too quick on the draw when it comes to pulling players off the court when they make a mistake.

In business, it's often necessary to be quick on the draw, but sometimes it's better to
  1. think carefully before doing something
  2. do something faster than others
  3. be slow to understand what's happening
